In Greek mythology, there once was a vain and cold God named Narcissus, who was (unfortunately) very beautiful. A nymph named Echo became infatuated with him, but she was cursed with only being able to communicate with others by repeating back what they said. She followed Narcissus while he was hunting one day, and he rejected her in a cruel way. And Echo, heartbroken, sought revenge. Enter - Nemesis; goddess of retribution and revenge, who led him to a pool of water where she cursed him to fall in love with his own reflection This led to his demise, and was said that a flower (spoiler: it was a Narcissus) grew soon after.
