While Orpheus may be known for his iconic red bandana, Eurydice wears her own neck scarf through much of the musical. Eurydice’s costuming has always stood out to me as a compelling storytelling device - much of the garments look like she herself found them in thrift shops or “borrowed” from others. Her scarf looks brown in most costuming choices, but I wanted to give our girl her own bold moment with this marigold shade. An equalizing compliment to Orpheus and his red bandana.
You’ll find lots of details between the fated lovers (some good, some bad) in this design. Snakes, dice, stars and wedding bands throughout! My favorite feature; when you tie the bandana ends together with their names, Orpheus and Eurydice will always be close together <3
